Grading system

Grade for the 1st semester: Final1 = min{Round(G1), 10}

CUM1 = 0.15*CW1+0.25*Mid1+0.15*CW2+0.25*Colloq1+0.2Q1 (no rounding)
G1 = 0.7*CUM1+0.3*Exam1+Bonus1 (no rounding)

  • CW1 - Control Work in October
  • Mid1 - Written control work (midterm) at the end of the 1st (or at the beginning of the 2nd module)
  • CW2 - Control Work in December
  • Colloq1 - Colloquium on theoretical part of the course
  • Q1 - Average grade of 70% of the best quizzes. Quizzes are held regularly in classes and based on previous homeworks. Quizzes can also include theoretical questions and definitionds from the previous lectures.
  • Exam1 - Written exam at the end of the 2nd module
  • Bonus1 - Number of bonus points for bonus tasks out of the whole number of bonus tasks from the 1st semester, the grade ∈ [0, 1]

Grade for the 2nd semester = final course grade: Round(0.4*G1 + 0.6*G2)

CUM2 = 0.15*CW3+0.25*Mid2+0.15*CW4+0.25*Colloq2+0.2Q2 (no rounding)
G2 = 0.7*CUM2+0.3*Exam2+Bonus2 (no rounding)

  • Mid2 - Written control work (midterm) at the end of the 3rd (or at the beginning of the 4th module)
  • Exam2 - Written exam at the end of the 4th module
  • Bonus2 - Number of bonus points for bonus tasks out of the whole number of bonus tasks from the 2nd semester, the grade ∈ [0, 1]

Duration of the midterms is 80 minutes.
Duration of the exam is 120 minutes.
If plagiarism is detected, the assessment element will be assigned a score of "0". If the student is suspected of preparing the task not on his own, the teacher has the right to initiate additional verification or defense of this particular assessment element. Then such an assessment element will be graded based on the additional verification or the defense.

Homework submission

HOMEWORKS do not affect the final grade in any way, so they are NOT OBLIGATORY.
Nevertheless, students are highly recommended to do them to practice material for quizzes and other elements of control.

If a student want to check correctness of their homework, they should submit it to the Google Classroom of their group, which can be found below:
